Zark's Burger upsets Unicorns X Blacksheep, cops Kings Division crown in dominating fashion

Zark's Burger had a season to remember as they are hailed as Kings Recreational Champions after defeating their friends-turned foe Unicorns X Blacksheep last Sunday afternoon at The Upperdeck Gym in Ortigas.

Playing as an underdog in the Finals, Zark’s bit Unicorn at the start of the game and posted an earl 25-9 lead, and went 28-11 going to the next period. Then, entered at halftime up by a dozen 47-35.

Maiko Buxani and Louie Pasamante led Zark’s with 19 a piece, Royce Agustin added 15, while Fonzy Martinez chipped in 14 markers.

On the other hand, Unicorns X Blacksheep, who had a chip on their shoulder, tried to save their dominant season by switching their defense to full court press, and unleashed three straight treys, cutting the deficit to six, 50-44.

However, Zark’s adjusted in the latter part of the third, and scored seven straight points in which Jered Mendoza punctuated it with a buzzer beating triple - entered the final frame up by 11, 67-56.

Carrying their momentum left in the previous canto, the white shirts posted their largest margin 79-59 with 7:28 left on the clock, before Unicorn unleashed its final hurrah and trimmed it to nine, 90-81 with 1:28 remaining.

Though, the champs showed how big their heart and hit those cold blooded shots to sealed the trophy on their side.

Ronaldo Rabacal’s 18 points led Unicorns x Blacksheep from scoring, Dunray Gerardo added 17, Issei Sugiyama finished with 16 markers.
