SMDC-Moldex keeps eye for number one spot as Sadim shines with triple-double over Center Functions

JC Sadim tallied a triple-double as SMDC-Moldex kept their hunt for the top spot alive as they walloped Center Functions, 92-77, as the eliminations of Corporate Invitational Intermediate Division comes near to end.


Having only one loss in five outings, SMDC-Moldex is looking to shock Meralco Energy in their elimination finale collision that will determine the top-seeded team in this division.


Sadim has shown his versatility as he chipped in 19 points, 17 rebounds, and 10 assists to lead his team to fourth win. Jay-R Patricio also finished with 19 markers along with eight boards, while Jhester Rosales and Ryan James Abanes contributed 14 and 13 points respectively.


An early 15-4 outburst put SMDC-Moldex in the comfortable situation as they never allowed Center Functions get a taste of the upperhand. They ended the first quarter ahead by 11 points as Rosales scored 12 points, 23-12.


Although the opponents were making their shots, SMDC-Moldex made sure to answer those baskets to keep their lead in double figures at the half, 44-32.


Keeping fresh legs inside the court compared to Center Functions' short rotation, SMDC-Moldex became relentless in the second half as they ended the third with a comanding 20-point cushion and never looked back in the final salvo.


Four of the six available players put up double figures for Center Functions, led by Ren Manzon and Nino Shappit's double-double efforts, 20 and 19 points respectively, and 10 boards apiece. Erwin Umali and Banjamin Corto got 14 markers each.
