Prime Homes demolishes rival DMCI in Q2 opener

Prime Homes bested their real-life real estate rival DMCI, 86-66, to kick off their journey in the Kings of the Court | STR8 Philippines Corporate Recreational tournament, held last May 26 at The Upper Deck in Ortigas, on a winning note.


Entering the second quarter with a ten-point lead, Prime Homes exploited DMCI’s drought on offense with a 6-0 spurt to build a 32-16 lead. Then, Jeff De Guzman dropped an 8-0 run of his own before half time, which ended with Prime Homes ahead 52-35.

With their sweet ball movement, Prime Homes tallied 20 assists as a team, while three starters scored in double figures. As a unit, Prime Homes shot 44% from the field, with 11 conversions from beyond the arc out of 26 attempts.

Eloy Bello paced Prime Homes with 22 points, while De Guzman and Alfred Asanza added 21 and 19 markers apiece. Asanza also grabbed nine rebounds and dished out two assists to eventually nab the Player of the Game honors.

Meanwhile, Ralph Rivas shone for DMCI with 20 points and five rebounds. Royce Opinion meanwhile tallied 16 markers and seven boards. Jun Coronel finished with a double-double consisting of 10 points and 14 rebounds.
