Jerome Ong made up for his absence in the previous game and guided Eton Properties to their playoff-clinching win over MServ, 77-63, in the Corporate Commercial Division of KOTC Invitational held at The Upper Deck Lifestyle Center in Ortigas, Pasig City.

As Eton Properties' lead got trimmed down to single digit, Ong showed his offensive and defensive brilliance as he poured three consecutive fastbreak baskets in just 20 seconds to give his team a commanding 73-58 lead with less than a minute left.

Ong finished with a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds, to go along with six assists and five steals as Eton Properties ended the eliminations with 2-2 record.

Dexter Degano also had a double-double game of 15 markers and 12 boards, while Henson Tan and Jae Yap contributed 17 and 11 points, respectively.

It was Eton Properties who displayed determination to win right from tip off as they easily held a double digit lead at the end of first quarter, 20-7. They even kept the momentum in the second frame and finished the first half with a 14-point cushion, 33-19.

MServ's one-two punch, David Guhiting and Mark Puspus, made their presence felt in the third quarter as they helped their team come to within five, 44-39. However, Eton Properties capped off the period with six unanswered points to stay ahead by 11, 50-39.

Tan's triples came on perfect time as it prevented MServ's rally. With Puspus powering inside the paint and Guhiting knocking down treys, MServ cut the lead down to eight with 3:31 left. But Ong did not allow them to come closer as he sealed Eton Properties' win with crucial fastbreak points and steals.

Guhiting had 27 points including seven treys, while Puspus gathered a double-double of 19 markers and 14 boards, plus three blocked shots for MServ, who fell to 1-2 slate.
