For a team that’s only entering its second season in the OBL, Daikin will continue to rely on their unpredictability as they plan on building off their playoff run last time around.

“Last year nakapag-playoffs kami, medyo kinulang lang sa hangin. But I think this season we’re going to do much better since mas gamay na nila ‘yung laruan dito sa liga, ang importante have fun lang kami,” said Coach Lardizabal.

“You know, anything can happen especially in this season,” he added.

While they may be considered as newbies compared to other seasoned teams in the OBL, head coach Dan Lardizabal finds joy in the process with the team taking it one step at a time.

He shared that even if challenges are to be expected, it’s only going to be a matter of time wherein they might upset some teams in this tourney. It’s only just a matter of keeping the team together while maintaining their focus.

“I just want to keep this team together since I feel na we can beat some of the powerhouses dito sa liga. Depende din naman kasi yan sa matchups eh, and I’m confident na given more time, malayo mararating namin,” bared Lardizabal.

Joining the league has done wonders for Daikin, as it provided its employees work-life balance given their hectic work schedules.

But more than anything, the veteran tactician sees the OBL as a microcosm to the company’s corporate values as it encourages their employees to achieve their fitness goals while making new friends as well.

“Ang goal namin [mainly] is to have fun and to do our best. Overall, OBL is a good platform for recreation, lalo na’t nagiging magkakaibigan kami lahat dito. We’re honored to be invited here once again to play in this league,” said Lardizabal.
