Fielding an identical seven-man lineup in this clash, Dumlao Thursdays came up victorious in their clash against Coreganix King, 86-78, in the second game of a triple-header on Sunday afternoon at The Upper Deck Lifestyle Center.

Jeffersson Obico grabbed a double-double performance of 30 points and 11 boards, while Raffy Arcilla collected 18 markers on top of five rebounds and one block for the victor. Only up by a precarious point at halftime, Dumlao got an early boost from their defense to open the third quarter of play, and reved up their advantage to a 71-66 count at the end of three.

Come fourth quarter, Coreganix King unleashed a fight back, spearheaded by Mac Valentino, to oveturn an 80-66 deficit to a 74-82 count behind a 10-2 blast with two minutes left to play. But despite gaining momentum in the final chapter, Dumlao Thursdays had enough ink to write the last sentence of the ballgame, with Mavi Ferrer and Raffy Arcilla conspiring for four straight points as the weeknight ballers held on for the W.

Jojo Sumndad logged 15 points and eight rebounds, Louis Rañosa added eight points and eight boards, while Pat Belleza finished with six points and three assists. Mavi Ferrer registered a signature all-around performance with four points, four rebounds, and five assists for the winning team.

For Coreganix King, all is not lost as despite the defeat, there's more basketball left to play in the coming weeks. Valiant efforts from Dane Marilag, who scored 22 points and dished out seven assists, Christian Guanco's 12 points and seven boards, Justine Estanol's 16 points, four boards, and four dimes, and Mac Valentino's 15 points, seven rebounds, and four assists are all great starting point for the team as they seek to bounce back deep in the elimination round.
