ING Lions stayed in contention for the Corporate Invitational Division championship after a 30-point rout of Finastra, 71-41, The Upper Deck Lifestyle Center in Ortigas, Pasig City.

After a low-scoring first half, ING Lions up the ante in the last two quarters as they outscored Finastra, 49-22, which put them on the fourth spot of the standings following a victory over Factset from the previous week.

It was a collective effort for ING on both ends as Jeremy Mamhot got the best performance with 13 points, five rebounds, five blocked shots, and three steals. Arman Bisnan made the team-high of 14 markers, Ivan Belsa got 13, and Manu Magat added 10.

Both teams focused on defense in the first two periods as they forced shot clock violations against each other in the first quarter and ended the first half with the lowest scoring exchange of the season at 22-19 in favor of ING Lions.

Finastra tied it at 29-all in the halfway mark of the third quarter, but ING Lions had better finish as they brought a double digit lead into the final salvo, 43-31.

Making a strong start of the fourth period, Finastra came to within 46-37, but their hopes suddenly shattered as ING Lions exploded for a destructive 16-nothing run on its way to getting a 30-point win at the buzzer.

Bart Garcia finished in double figures with 11 while Julian Cruz got nine points for Finastra, who remained winless in four games.
