HIKVision Philippines gathered its employees and business partners as it launched the inaugural season of HIKVision Basketball Cup at the Paco Arena in the country's capital Manila City last March 3, 2019.

One of the world's biggest distributors of high-end security cameras, HIKVision aimed to form unity and harmony within the company through this event, as well as discovering the talents of each individual in sports, specifically basketball.

Mr. Ray Wu, General Manager of HIKVision Philippines, expressed his gratitude for the success of the opening day as he knew this kind of event will bring out the competitiveness of the participants, and also build camaraderie that will be beneficial for the company.

"Most of our partners have the chance to know more of each other as well as the staff and employees of the company," Wu said.

"By uniting everyone through this kind of event, it will help our business to grow together and win together," he added. "Whatever the scores are, for me they are already champions."

Being the man behind the creation of the league, HIKVision Philippines Marketing Manager Patrick Visto recalled how they came up with an idea of putting up a basketball event for all their partners and employees.

"Nu'ng una, naisip lang namin na gawing pass time yung basketball. Until nai-push namin kay Mr. Ray, our General Manager, na magkaroon ng liga for employees since we have a budget para dito. They approved it para i-encourage din ang distributors sa isang healthy competition," Visto narrated.

With only six teams competing, the first season of HIKVision Basketball Cup will run as a three-day league. The first day, which also happened last Sunday, was made for the elimination round and only four squads advanced to the knockout semifinals that was set next Sunday, March 10, 2019. The winners in the semifinals will be battling for the first-ever championship on March 17, 2019.

For the champion team, they will receive a cash prize of P15, 000, plus action cameras and Seagate SkyHawk HDD. Also, raffle prizes will be given away to the guests and players on the finals.

"We want to see kung gaano ka-competitive ang partners and distributors with this kind of event. Actually, hindi namin in-expect na ganito kadaming tao ang pupunta ngayon first day pa lang. And we expect sa Finals, mas madami pa," Visto said.

Because of the warm support of all the partners that led to the league's successful opening, Visto exclaimed that HIKVision eyes to make the Basketball Cup an annual event and plans to add more prizes to increase the excitement among players.

Hua Yang Electronics, Nanotec, USTDI and HIKVision were the teams fighiting in the semifinals as Philteq and Expose got eliminated.
