Eton Properties gave debuting Alpha Seven a rude welcome in the 2020 Kings of the Court Corporate Commercial Invitationals, earning a 111-105 win Sunday inside The Upper Deck Lifestyle Center.

The 2019 KOTC champions rode the hot shooting of Mark Francisco who lighted up the famed Ortigas venue with 48 points, spiked by eight three-pointers. The 2019 Final Most Valuable Player tallied 67% of his field goal attempts, while also grabbing seven rebounds, to lead Eton to their third win in five games.

Alpha Seven opened its campaign in the six-team tournament, parading a solid lineup headed by Reymark Matias, Niño Marquez and Joseph Lingao-Lingao. The league newcomers hang tough against the reigning titlists, trailing by just five at the start of the payoff period.

Backstopping Francisco were Mitchell Tan and Jae Yap, who tallied 19 and 13 points respectively. Tan, Eton’s court general, also tacked 10 assists across his name to essay a double-double performance.

Matias paced Alpha Seven with 24 points, while Clark Torrente added 19.
