In a brilliant display of offensive firepower, Exile plowed through MSERV, 113-67, in their Sunday night encounter in the 2020 Kings of the Court Corporate Commercial Invitationals held inside The Upper Deck Lifestyle Center in Ortigas.

The Edward Medina-mentored squad emptied the fuselage early, as Exile kicked off the contest with a 24-2 blitz. Turning the Sunday evening curtain-raiser to a virtual layup line, Exile pounced on MSERV’s turnovers from the backcourt to tally easy transition points. Prince Fernandez and Jasper Casitas took turns in cashing in on the first quarter heist with wide-open layups, setting up the tone for an Exile wire-to-wire victory.

In the second quarter, Exile’s Jay Arcusa and MSERV’s David Guhiting treated the sizeable Sunday crowd to a shootout, as the two gunners traded one long bomb after the other. Arcusa, an Exile fixture, dropped three of his seven three-point attempts in the said frame. Not to be outdone, the pint-sized yet stocky Guhiting knocked down five long balls – four coming in the final two minutes of the first half.

Despite Guhiting’s red-hot shooting, MSERV still found themselves down big after two quarters, 63-38.

There was no letup from Exile, the only undefeated team in the five-team league, in the third frame with Choy Casibang, Fernandez and Casitas joining Arcusa in the scoring binge. Outscoring their counterparts 39-16 in the period, Exile reached the century mark in the 1:11 mark courtesy of a Casitas short stab.

Ending the third way ahead 102-54, Exile went into cruise control in the deciding frame to secure their second win in the tournament.

Arcusa and Guhiting capped their duel with 23 markers apiece, combining for 14 made three-pointers. Fernandez registered 13 points, while Casibang added 12.

Diego Gutierrez scored 11 markers for MSERV, who saw their win-loss slate drop to 1-1.
