Marty De Mesa and Marco Macario scored team-highs of 17 points, while JB De Belen and JC Cifra had identical 13 point outputs as DU Basketball banked on their mainstays to beat LSBC, 87-75, in the final game of a quadruple-header on Sunday at The Upper Deck Lifestyle Center in Ortigas, Pasig City.

Six other players contributed on offense, as a result of the 23 huge assists they dimed all-game long as DU collected bak-to-back wins in their final elimination game in the KOTC Q1 2020 Inter Pick-Up League. A strong first half lifted DU to a 43-25 count at halftime, thanks to an 18-7 rout in the second quarter. LSBC roared back to in the third period, where they outscored DU via 20-16 scoring.

But unfazed of the impending comeback, DU Basketball keyed in the same effort in the final ten minutes of play, to keep LSBC at bay for the rest of the game. Louie Andrada finished with seven points, five rebounds, and two assists, Patrick Librando was all over the place with seven rebounds, four assists, two steals, all while scoring five points. The Michael Bacani-mentored DU got important contrbibutions not only from their main gunners, but more importantly from their second unit.

For LSBC, all is not lost despite suffering their third loss as they still have a chance to redeem themselves in the more important games come playoff time. Bright spots such as Brandon Espiras' consistency with his game-high 18 points remains as an important asset for them in the playoffs. Valiant efforts from this game, came from Jay Magleo and James Escaran, who scored 14 points each, Matthew Lopez's double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Janjan Apostol's seven points, nine rebounds, and five steals.
