DMCI showed poise in the second half as they outlasted Uber, 70-62, to build a two-game winning streak in the Corporate Recreational division of the Kings of the Court | STR8 Philippines 2019 Invitational.

Surprised by Uber in the first half, DMCI regrouped in the third frame as Jobert Castro sank two triples to spark their counterattack. They finished the third on a high note and continued the momentum in the fourth period that put the opposing team at bay until the final buzzer.

Castro connected a total of six three-pointers and gathered 20 points, along with six rebounds, three assists, two steals, and two blocks. Ralph Kenneth Rivas put up 10 points and 10 rebounds, plus six steals and two assists, while Froy Pontivedra contributed 17 markers.

Unlike their previous game, Uber went off with a rampaging opening rally, taking an early 9-0 lead. But DMCI was quick to respond after a timeout, answering back with their own 11-0 surge. Uber recovered the advantage, but Rivas' trey and Pontivedra's layup brought DMCI ahead by three, 18-15.

Uber shared the leather well in the second quarter, resulting to another strong run and even holding a 10-point cushion at the halfway mark. DMCI refused to let Uber gain momentum, gradually cutting the deficit to just three at the end of the first half, 34-31.

Steady from the three-point line, Castro buried three triples as DMCI got the lead back, 42-39. After then, six deadlocks and five lead changes were recorded, but DMCI unleashed a 10-3 run to end the third with a five-point edge, 53-48.

DMCI continued their attack in the early minutes of the fourth quarter, pouring another 10-3 rally to hold a double-digit lead, 63-52. As Uber tried to get back, DMCI managed to answer the opponent's baskets to secure an eight-point victory.

Terrence Teodosio and Jejomar Belen powered Uber with 17 and 15 points, respectively. They now fell to 1-2 record.
