ETON Properties relied on their defensive strategy to overcome Concentrix, 72-63, and become successful in their Corporate Commercial Division debut in KOTC Invitational, Sunday at The Upper Deck in Ortigas, Pasig.

Not giving easy shots to the opponent, ETON clamped Concentrix to just 34 percent field goal shooting and forced the latter to commit 26 turnovers. They also built huge differences in steals and blocks as they got 14 and 5 on those departments, respectively, compared to Concentrix's 7 and none.

Mark Francisco had a tremendous job offensively as he put up 22 markers, including four triples all in the first quarter, along with five rebounds, while Jerome Ong had a superb performance with 24 points, seven rebounds, six steals, four assists, and one block. Mitchell Tan added 10 markers.

ETON's duo has been efficient in the first half as they gave the team a 10-point advantage in the second quarter 24-14 before bringing a seven-point cushion at the half, 36-29.
A late surge in the third by Concentrix tied the game up at 47 heading to the fourth quarter.

Concentrix even stole the lead in the 9:42 mark of the final frame, 49-47, but Francisco drilled a trey and Ong followed with a layup on the next possession as ETON reclaimed the lead and never looked back.

Rom Talagtag led Concentrix with 11 points and seven rebounds.
