DBTI ends skid, dismantles struggling Villamor for breakthrough win

DBTI went on a roll in the second quarter to dismantle Villamor, 99-77, notching their first victory in three outings in the Kings of the Court Inter Pick-up League last Saturday at the Upper Deck – East.

Mark Millan put on a show for DBTI against Villamor by bullying his defenders under the rim to grab a monstrous double-double of 19 points and 16 rebounds. In addition, the big man of DBTI was on target-- shooting 57% from the field. Millan also dished four dimes, snatched three steals and had a single rejection to cap off his huge game for DBTI.

Villamor tried to give DBTI a good game, but the closest they got was back in the opening quarter. Despite having a back-and-forth affair in the first canto, Villamor had struggles in shooting the leather in the second frame after DBTI tightened up its defensive tactics.

The towers of DBTI dominated the game by grabbing offensive boards that resulted to second chance points at the second quarter. Millan and Aron Molo were both unstoppable inside the shaded lane, giving DBTI a huge advantage at the rebounding department.

It was all DBTI in the third quarter. Showing great hunger a breakthrough victory, DBTI displayed a relentless offensive prowess by draining shots from all cylinders.

Molo led all scorers for DBTI with a huge 25 point performance while shooting 10-of-18 from the field, and clawed 13 boards in total. Ian Ples added an efficient 23 points while Irvin Gomez ended with 10 points.

Meanwhile, Villamor continues to struggle after dropping their third straight game. Jako Estabillo’s 32-point outing topped his team in this tough outing.
