Born Ready kicked off their KOTC Q1 2020 Inter Pick-up League campaign with an 83-74 win over the debuting XS-Zero Four, in the third game of a Saturday night quadruple-header at The Upper Deck Lifestyle Center.

Gian Racelis led the victor with a game-high 26 points on 80% shooting from three point land-- along with 13 boards, while Jon Nery posted a double-double of his own with 16 points and 16 rebounds on top of five assists and one block.

XS-Zero Four grabbed the early advantage behind Miguel Silva's scoring prowess, with the duo of Lanca Tan and Andrew Sy following the former's hot start. The white shirts led 41-34 at halftime, but come third quarter, Born Ready went berserk and unleashed a 14-5 run to snatch the lead midway through the third chapter. The momentum would stay with the men in green, as they finish the quarter strong with a 63-57 lead heading to the payoff period.

Experience came into play as Born Ready locked down on the opposition's shooters in winning time. XS-Zero Four struggled to buy buckets as the Champ De Lunas-mentored side expanded their lead. Born Ready would seal the ballgame after holding their foes down to just 2 points in the final minute--securing the opening day win.

Ellis Chua and Mark Lamson each grabbed 11 markers and hauled a combined six rebounds and five assists across their names. Willam Paz shot 60% from beyond the arc, to finish next to their scorning leader with 17 points.

Silva finished with a huge 27 point-15 rebound performance, while Lance Tan added 12 points and six boards, while Andrew Sy grabbed 11 of his own. Team Captain Franklin See and Jerome Nocom rounded out the scoring contributions for XS-Zero Four with nine and eight markers respectively.
