DU Basketball halted a two-game skid in their 85-59 rout of EINZ in the final game of the triple-header of the KOTC Q1 2020 Inter Pick-Up League on Sunday afternoon at The Upper Deck Lifestyle Center.

A close ballgame in the first frame, the Michael Bacani-mentored squad went on an 11-0 blast to start off the second chapter, en route to blanking EINZ for a five-minute span to blow the game wide-open early as they finish the half with a 22-5 second quarter scoring. 30-20 was the halftime count.

Come third quarter, EINZ put up a gallant stand and matched DU's quarter output, however, the lead stayed with the opposition as they entered the third frame. Not wanting to give their fes a glimmer of hope, Marty De Mesa and Louie Andrada, along with Mike Lara hit huge buckets in the fourt as finishing touches in their 30-19 assertion to secure the 26-point win.

De Mesa scored a season-best 17 points on 65% shooting from the field and collected eight boards and four steals for the victor. Andrada added 16 points and seven rebounds, Marco Macario delivered 17 markers of his own, while Mike Lara, Rodge Verdejo, JC Cifra, and Spencer Sowy combined for 28 points and 14 boards to round out the solid cast of contributors in DU Basketball's breakthrough win.

Jason Galleta led all scorers with 26 points, fueled by six made threes, Dan Cedro added 15 markers, while Xander Sarmiento collected 10 points and nine rebounds for EINZ, who played without two of their main gunners in Chris Obana and Jaric Gutierrez.
