Inaugural Season opens up with AF1 defeating the Pampanga Archers, 86 – 71, at the Beverly Place Basketball Court, Mexico City.

Aldrian Soriano led the way for AF1, notching a monster double-double performance, scoring 25 points and grabbing 13 rebounds while shooting at an insane 86% from the field. But Soriano had plenty of help from Brian Lugtu (13 PTS, 4 steals), Nino Yumul (16 PTS) and Vitoy David (12 PTS, 4 REBS, 50% from 3PT).

Pace and space is what proved to be effective for the boys in Purple as they blitzed the Pampanga Archers defense with fast break baskets, well-timed passes and crashing the offensive boards. Soriano proved to be a force in the interior, going against the bigger Jami Gadi and challenging the big man on every offensive and defensive possession, and eventually causing Gadi to foul out.

The Pampanga Archers were led by Kit Santos (24PTS, 4 REBS) and gunner Ken Koo (15PTS, 4-Made 3PT FGs), and put up a valiant effort, but proved to be too little for the AF1 Offense. Star big man Jami Gadi scored 8 Points and grabbed 7 Rebounds before fouling out.
