The hardcourts of The Upper Deck Sports Center were filled with intense basketball actions and camaraderie as the first ZAMST 3X3 Tournament ended successfully last March 17, 2019.

A total of 85 teams participated the event that was comprised of seven divisions, made possible by its major sponsor ZAMST Phillipines in partnership with Kings of the Court / STR8 Philippines, Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP), MNL Kingpin, Wilson Basketball, BTV, Exile Inc., and The Upper Deck.

According to Mr. Bobby Go, who is the President of Dameka Trading Inc. that distributes ZAMST products, the turnout of the first 3X3 tournament was unprecedented as it exceeded their expected targets, specifically the number of teams joining.

"Alam mo ako, nagulat ako. Kasi nung tinatanong ko si Cholo (KOTC / STR8 Philippines President) when we were planning it, he's saying na unprecedented na ganyan kadami. And then, nagugulat din kami sa bilis ng response. I think in less than two weeks napuno yung slots, nadagdagan pa. Even Coach Ronnie Magsanoc na-surprise na ganun kalaki in such a short time," Mr. Go expressed.

Providing high quality sporting gears for about five years in the country, ZAMST aims to reach the interest of the number one basketball fan in the world as per FIBA, the Filipinos, assuring them that their products aquired durability, quality, and comfort that will enable every basketball enthusiast to have a longer playing career.

"We want the players to realize na yes, nagbabayad sila ng premium products, but we assure that it protects them, it makes them recover faster, and play better because of our products' quality. Mas hahaba ang bawat playing career nila," Go said. "And just like our campaign says, "Train Smarter, Play Better, and Recover Faster."

Participating teams got the chance to experience using the ZAMST products during their games and helped them avoid any untoward incidents or injuries.

Each player also received two high quality sublimated jersey uniforms, light and dark, created by the well-known jersey manufacturer MNL Kingpin, owned by Mr. Jose Carlo Fernandez.

The event was also featured in BTV, the official media partner, while Exile Inc. set up the lights and sound effects. Players got to experience gripping the world class Wilson 3X3 Basketball, which is used as the FIBA 3X3 official ball, in the whole tournament.

According to Mr. Go, the partnership with KOTC / STR8 Philippines helped them a lot in conducting the ZAMST 3X3 Tournament as they got to bring more basketball-related sponsors, aside from all the plannings that they have made for this event to become a hit.

"I think that is the strength of KOTC. They know who to partner with, even us na baguhan, hindi lang sila pipili ng kahit na sino. They are very careful with who they partner with. I'm very happy with all the partnerships we have for 3X3 dahil lahat sila malakas ang recall sa tao, and mataas ang reputation sa basketball community," Mr. Go stated.

Putting angst and excitement in every game, rapper Mike Swift was invited to be the official host of the event, showcasing his talent in rap music and as game announcer.

On a separate interview with the PBA Legend and SBP President Ronnie Magsanoc, holding a 3X3 tournament will not only help the Philippines increase its chance to the Olympics, but also raise awareness and promote to the Filipinos this kind of competition.

"Napakaimportante nitong event natin dahil hindi lamang Olympics ang ating tinitignan. We are also trying to raise awareness in promoting the sport. And more than that, I know we Filipinos are able to play the game and excel in 3X3 at the same time," said Magsanoc.

"Naniniwala ako na ang tatluhan, ang 3X3 ay akma sa mga Pilipino. This is something we can compete in. Nakita ko na yung world class level. Nakita ko na and it's only a matter of time, pag nabuo natin lahat ng tamang templates, lahat ng tamang procedures, and once we start embracing the sport, I think we'll be threading the correct path eventually."

Because of the triumphant inauguration of ZAMST 3X3 Tournament, Philippines was rewarded, with a total of 1,292,150 technical points by the FIBA Organization, boosting the country's chance to qualify in the 3X3 Category of the Olympics.

Witnessing the Filipino’s potentials, Magsanoc was overwhelmed by the way the players showed their hearts out to win the games in this competition and encouraged everyone to continue playing the sport on a regular basis.

After a day full of grueling actions, here are the champions in each division of ZAMST 3X3 Tournament:
